I Heart Independent Designers

I absolutely adore independent designers and brands because their ethics and values are so close to mine. On the madebywave journey so far, I’ve been lucky enough to meet many inspiring designers. Each one is standing at the helm of a brand that values sustainability, consciousness and unique products with a story and a heart. Here are a few of my favourites…

Iris Sandals

When I met the gorgeous Anastasia, founder of Iris Sandals, I instantly loved how beautifully our products complemented one another. Iris Sandals offer sandals and accessories with all footwear crafted by local artisans using traditional techniques on the island of Crete. I especially love the range of statement bangle bracelets with so many beautiful bright colours to choose from to easily mix up your look.

Alexandra Miro

Alexandra aims to empower women through her luxury resortwear and this is a philosophy I can really get on board with! I love how the clean and minimalist aesthetic of her swimwear contrasts beautifully with the bright, playful colours of the madebywave bag designs.

Harry Rocks London

Jewellery is such a personal choice and I rarely find brands that offer what I’m looking for when it comes to accessorising. So, I was thrilled to discover Harry Rocks! Designer Laura Rowan makes every single piece by hand for a true personal touch. Her costume jewellery experience is evident in her elegant yet quirky pieces, many of which can be personalised. And just like myself, Laura loves using charms in her designs!

Ille de Cocos

I met Deola, the founder of Ille de Cocos, when I featured in her pop up – A Luxe Story. This is a great collective of independent brands and marked my early steps into the London independent fashion scene. First I was charmed by Deola and then I was charmed by her designs! Again, I love the contrast between my colourful, bright designs and her soft, modern womenswear layers that really show what effortless style is all about.

Evarae

Evarae is a brand that I exhibited alongside at A Luxe Story pop-up. Founder Georgia Thompson was inspired by a childhood spent at sea travelling with her parents and her love for travel simply oozes from every piece. I love the tropical designs and the fact that every single product makes me dream of far-flung beaches and exotic landscapes. It’s also super-luxurious and made from 100% silk with traditional hand embroidery techniques and delicate design work.
